MARSHALL – A matchup featuring two Corn Belt League leaders in the Marshall A’s (6-1) and the Raymond Rockets (5-1) was suspended due to rain on Sunday with the teams still scoreless through two and a half innings.

Play is scheduled to resume next Sunday at 5 p.m. with Marshall at the plate with one out in the bottom of the third inning and a runner on second base.

In two innings pitched, Marshall’s Logan Tomasek held the Rockets without a hit while recording two strikeouts and a pair of walks.

At the plate, the A’s totaled three hits including a leadoff single for Nate Hoeft, who made his return to the A’s lineup after missing the first month of the season.

Alex Thompson recorded the second hit for Marshall in the second inning and Tomasek led off the third with a base hit. Tomasek went on to advance to second on a passed ball and will return to second base when play continues.
