PREP BASKETBALL: Camden announces All-Conference basketball teams

MARSHALL – The Camden Conference recently announced its All-Conference teams for boys and girls basketball, and multiple area schools were represented.

Girls Basketball

Leading the way in the North Division was Dawson-Boyd’s Alex Sather and Avery Bartunek while Lac qui Parle Valley had Haley Wollschlager, Grace Hegland, Lindsay Kranz and Isabel Schirm as its representatives. Joining them were Kerkhoven-Murdock Sunburg’s Katie Krieger and Madison Rohner, Colette Duininck and Reegan Duininck from Central Minnesota Christian, MACCRAY’s Piper Asche and Renville County West’s Lauren Wulf.

On the North Division Honorable Mention team were Sidney Gerdes (LQPV), Maret Gjerde (KMS), Elli Stoel (CMCS), Sage Mecker (MACCRAY), Mary Bothun (Dawson-Boyd) and Pamela Winzenburg (RCW).

Wollschlager was named MVP of the North Division while John Nolte of LQPV was named Coach of the Year.

In the South Division, leading the way was Lydia Sussner, Morgan Hennen, Abby Hennen and Morgan Kockelman from Class A champion Minneota while Yellow Medicine East was represented by Madison Hinz, Mackenzie Dyrdahl and Meeghen Dahlager. Kiana Imes and Aubrey Kaczmarek made it for Lakeview, while Russell-Tyler-Ruthton’s Brooke Thomsen, Canby’s Kayelee Johnson and Tracy-Milroy-Balaton’s Samantha Edwards also made the list.

On the South Division Honorable Mention team were Lizzy Gillingham (Minneota), Sierra Plotz (Lakeview), Sarah Hansen (Canby), Cassidy Smith (TMB) and Haley Muenchow (RTR).

Sussner was named MVP of the South Division while Chad Johnston (Minneota) was named Coach of the Year.

Boys Basketball

Leading the way in the North Division was Dawson-Boyd’s Bentley Boike and Zach Durfee while LQPV had Austin Bonn, Caden Bjornjeld and Maverick Conn as its representatives. Joining them were Weston Gjerde and Ethan Hauge (KMS), Justin Schrupp and Riley Ashburn (RCW), Austin TeBrake and Peter Martin (CMCS) and Brady Kienitz (MACCRAY).

On the North Division Honorable Mention team were Isaac Call (KMS), Jay Marcus (CMCS), Colton Husby (Dawson-Boyd), Thomas Daniels (LQPV), Thomas Kirking (MACCRAY) and Jamie Castillo (RCW).

Schrupp was named MVP of the North Division while LQPV’s Barry Besonen was named Coach of the Year.

In the South Division, leading the way was Thomas Hennen, Jacob Hennen, Logan Sussner and Nolan Boerboom from Minneota while RTR was represented by Cooper Hansen, Carter Hansen and Jack Kerr. Tyler Imes and Aaron Loe made it for Lakeview, while TMB’s Fritz Landherr and Jake Tauer, Canby’s Riley Kockelman and YME’s Bennett Knapper also made the list.

On the South Division Honorable Mention team were Jahrell Ishmon (YME), Jared Josephson (Minneota), Parker Hoffman (Lakeview), Trevor Larson (TMB), Jared Hauswedell (RTR) and Ethan Thovson (Canby).

Thomas Hennen and Cooper Hansen were named co-MVPs of the South Division while Dave Busselman (Minneota) was named Coach of the Year.
