PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Marshall gymnastics can’t get past JCC

JACKSON – The Marshall gymnastics team fell to Jackson County Central in a dual on Monday night by a score of 135.050-126.225.

Saphi McFarquhar led the way for the Tigers with a first-place finish on vault (8.825) and the uneven bars (8.600) as well as third-place finishes on the balance beam (8.750) and the floor exercise (8.500) to place first in the all-around with a score of 34.675. Cameen McFarquhar added a second-place finish on bars (7.950) while Kaitlyn Matzner had an all-around score of 30.150 for a third-place finish.

Marshall coach Larvita McFarquhar said she was pleased with their effort and felt they did a good job on the bars and vault during the meet.

“The girls really came back and cleaned up some things from the Saturday meet,” coach McFarquhar said. “I thought we did a good job on bars and vault and did well with sticking our routines.”

Marshall will compete again on Friday at 6 p.m. against Hendricks.

Mountain 83, Wabasso 38

WABASSO – The Wabasso boys basketball team fell to Cedar Mountain 83-38 on Monday.

Brock Rohlik led the way for the Rabbits with 10 points while Isaac Kronback added seven and Colby Wall had six. Sam Rabenberg led in rebounds with nine while Rabenberg and Wall led in assists with two each.

Wabasso will face Fulda today at 7:15 p.m.
