SMSU WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Mustangs resume action on Sunday at Sioux Falls

MARSHALL – The Southwest Minnesota State University women’s basketball team (4-6, 1-4 NSIC) continues NSIC play on Sunday, taking on the University of Sioux Falls (8-3, 3-2 NSIC) at the Stewart Center in Sioux Falls, S.D., with tip-off set for 2 p.m.

•SMSU will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak and also avenge an earlier loss this season to USF on Dec. 1 in Marshall.

SMSU Quick Hits

•SMSU scored a season-low 39 points and shot a season-low 26 percent in the loss at Minnesota Duluth on Dec. 15.

•SMSU is currently on a season long three-game losing skid.

•USF has won the last 11 meetings versus SMSU.

•Kaely Hummel leads the team in scoring at 15.6 ppg and has made a team-best 27 3-pointers.

•Mariah Szymanski is averaging 8.4 ppg with 12 3-pointers.

•Hannah Jones leads the team with 5.9 rpg and also has dished out a team-high 33 assists. She was injured in the win over DSU on Dec. 18.
