WESTBROOK – The Westbrook-Walnut Grove boys basketball team earned its first win of the season with a 72-49 victory over Martin County West on Monday.

Parker Freeburg led the way for the Chargers with 25 points while Andrew Quade added 21 and Ethan Mischke had 17. Freeburg led in rebounds with 10 while Wyatt Christians added seven. Quade led in assists with seven while Mischke and Jake Kleven led in steals with three each.

BBE Invite

BELGRADE – The Quad County wrestling team placed ninth in the BBE Invite over the weekend with a score of 77.

Ayden Friese led the way for QC with a first place finish in the 170-weight class while Jack Howard (160-weight class) and Hunter Wolf (HWT) took fourth place. Luke Kluver (120-weight class) and Gunner Stier (126-weight class) took fifth while Javier Jackson (138-weight class) and Cole Fischer (220-weight class) took sixth.

Quad County will compete today against Wabasso/RRC and KMS at 5 p.m.
