PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Strong first half propels Tigers around Worthington

MARSHALL — The Marshall girls basketball team has alternated wins and losses through the first two weeks of the season. The Tigers started their first streak of the season on Thursday night with an 81-71 win over Worthington.

Marshall sophomore Jordyn Hilgemann scored a game-high 35 points, along with eight rebounds and six assists.

Abigail Wendorff added 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Paige Andries tallied 10 points in the win.

Marshall (4-2) hosts St. Peter today.

Canby 54, TMB 51

TRACY — Canby went on the road to defeat Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 54-51 on Thursday.

Riley Kockelman led Canby with 15 points. Ethan Thovson, Matt Groen and Carter Wente all scored seven points for Canby in the win.

Jett Davis led TMB with 12 points and six rebounds.

Canby (2-2) travels to Lakeview on Tuesday while TMB (3-2) travels to Yellow Medicine East on Tuesday.

Carter Hansen led the way for RTR with 18 points and seven rebounds, while Payton Hess and Cooper Hansen added 15 points apiece.

Jared Hauswedell recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Carter Sneller scored nine points to lead YME.

RTR (4-0) hosts Murray County Central today while YME (0-4) hosts Tracy-Milroy-Balaton on Tuesday.
