SMSU GOLF: SMSU finishes eighth at Augustana Invitational
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Southwest Minnesota State women’s golf team closed the Augustana Invite on Sunday with a second round score of 346 and finished in eighth place with a score of 681 at the 10-team, 36-hole invite played at Elmwood Golf Course.
Augustana won the invite with a score of 30-over-par 606, with Nebraska-Kearney coming in second place at 45-over 621. Augustana’s Hannah Hankinson earned medalist honors in the 59-player field with an even par score of 144.
Sophomore Hannah Kohls tied for 19th overall with a 16-over 160 (76-84) to lead the Mustangs over the weekend, while freshman Grace Miller recorded a 31st place finish at 22-over 166 (81-85). Anneke Weg shot rounds of 95 and 86 to tie for 47th with a 37-over 181, Anna Davison tied for 50th at 38-over 182 (91-91), while Hallie Will placed 52nd at 39-over 183. Sydney O’Brien-playing as an individual this weekend-shot a 12-over 84 today and finished 42nd overall with a 30-over 174 (90-84).
Southwest Minnesota State will conclude its 2018 fall season next Sunday and Monday at the Midwest Classic in Maryville, Missouri.
