SMSU SOCCER: SMSU’s Craigmile and Miskowiec each earn NSIC Player of the Week

BURNSVILLE – Southwest Minnesota State University soccer players Alli Miskowiec and Jessica Craigmile were each named Player of the Week by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference on Monday afternoon.

Miskowiec was named the NSIC’s Offensive Player of the Week, while Craigmile was named the league’s Goalkeeper of the Week, for their performances in SMSU’s 4-1 road win over the University of Sioux Falls last Friday night.

It’s SMSU’s first NSIC weekly award winners since the 2015 season.

Miskowiec, a junior forward from Prior Lake, scored her first career hat trick and also recorded an assist in the victory. She finished the game with six shot attempts, including four on goal. She was the first SMSU player to score three goals in a game since Miranda Cadena on Oct. 24, 2015.

Craigmile, a junior from Adel, Iowa, recorded 12 saves in the victory, which was SMSU’s first road win since Sept. 18, 2016. She made five saves in the first half and added seven more in the final 45 minutes.

Southwest Minnesota State, 1-2 overall, 1-0 NSIC, returns to action on Friday afternoon with a conference game at Augustana University starting at 4 p.m.
