PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Rabbits take first place in Montevideo tournament

MONTEVIDEO – The Wabasso volleyball team took home first place in the Montevideo tournament on Saturday. The Rabbits defeated Milbank (S.D.) (25-10, 25-14), Renville County West (25-13, 25-16), Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop (25-12, 25-15) and Lakeview (25-12, 21-25, 16-14).

Maddy Guetter led the way for the Rabbits with 58 total kills while Megan Rothmeier led in digs with 66 total and Guetter added 46. Jenna Frank led in set assists with 88 total while Cora Eichten led in blocks with 11 total.

Wabasso (6-1) will host its own tournament next weekend.

Luverne tournament

LUVERNE – The Canby volleyball team took second place in the Luverne tournament on Saturday. The Lancers defeated Edgerton (25-15, 25-9), Luverne (25-16, 25-16) and Blue Earth Area (25-6, 25-15) before falling to West Lyon in three sets (25-23, 20-25, 11-15) to go 3-1 on the day.

Canby (5-2) will face Murray County Central today at 7:15 p.m.

Canby 19

CANBY – The Canby football team fell to Ortonville 27-19 on Friday night.

Parker Viessman led the way for the Lancers with 186 passing yards and two touchdowns while Kalib Greenman hauled in seven catches for 103 receiving yards and a score and Cameron Anderson led in rushing with 67 yards and a touchdown.

Canby (0-2) will face Minneota this Friday at 7 p.m.

ADRIAN – The Tracy-Milroy-Balaton football team defeated Adrian 20-14 on Friday night.

Sawyer Otto led the way for the Panthers with 52 passing yards and 115 rushing yards while Konnor Zick added 74 yards on the ground and a touchdown. Trevor Eisfeld also had 18 rushing yards and two scores for TMB.

TMB will face Wabasso this Friday at 7 p.m.
