PRINCETON – The Marshall Legion baseball team went 1-2 over the weekend at the Princeton tournament, falling to Grand Rapids 6-5 before defeating Princeton 10-0 in six innings on Saturday. The Mudcats then fell to Armstrong on Sunday 5-1.

Against Grand Rapids, Alex Thompson and Cody Greve each led the way for Marshall with a pair of hits and an RBI while Peyton Grant added two hits and Jackson Hughes, Isaac Schmitt, Parker Terfehr, Jordan Mernaugh and Nick Macchio all had a hit.

Hughes took the loss on the mound in relief, going 1.2 innings while allowing four runs on four hits and striking out one.

Against Princeton, Thompson led the way for Marshall with a 3 for 4 day at the plate while Greve and Terfehr each went 2 for 4 with two RBI and Grant and Andrew Mulso each added a hit and two RBI. Schmitt chipped in two hits and an RBI while Mernaugh had a hit as well.

Greve earned the complete-game win on the mound, going six innings while allowing no runs on six hits and striking out six.

Against Armstrong, Grant led the way for Marshall with a 2 for 3 day at the plate while Schmitt, Greve and Macchio each added a hit.

Terfehr took the loss on the hill, going six innings while allowing five runs on four hits and striking out three.

EAGAN – The Marshall 15U Orange baseball team dropped a pair of games on Friday, falling to Minnetonka 6-4 and Hastings 4-3.

Against Minnetonka, Josh Baker led the way for Marshall with a 2 for 2 day at the plate with an RBI while AJ Toulouse added a hit and an RBI and Brock Schultz and Jacob Hughes had a hit. Cole Felcyn added an RBI as well.

Jaden Pearcy took the loss on the mound in relief, going 1.2 innings while allowing four runs on one hit and striking out three.

Against Hastings, Felcyn led the way for Marshall with a 3 for 4 day at the plate while Toulouse and Schultz added two hits each, with Schultz picking up an RBI. Chase Douglas, Baker, Spencer Wambeke all had a hit while Bryce Lance had a hit and an RBI and Hughes had an RBI.

Schultz took the loss on the mound, going 3.1 innings while allowing three runs on five hits.
