ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Southwest Minnesota State University’s Ashley Bixby carded an even-par 72 and is currently tied for fifth place after round one of the NCAA women’s golf Super Region 3 Tournament at the par-72, 6,084-yard The Missouri Bluffs Golf Course on Monday.

Elin Wahlin from Southwestern Oklahoma State and Josefina Haupt from Lindenwood (Mo.), are the individual co-leaders of the 66-player field, after carding rounds of 2-under-par 70.

Bixby, a senior from West Fargo, North Dakota, and playing in her first NCAA region tournament, started on hole 10 and finished her round with three birdies, 11 pars and four bogeys.

Arkansas Tech (301, +13) holds a one-shot lead over Augustana (302, +14) and a three-shot lead over SW Oklahoma State (304, +16) in the 12-team standings.

The top three teams along with the top three individuals not with a team from each of the four Super Regionals will advance to the NCAA Championships on May 16-19 at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas.

Bixby will begin round two today on hole 10 starting at 10:45 a.m.
