MARSHALL – Southwest Minnesota State University head cross country/track and field coach Dan Allen announced that 25 student-athletes-10 women and 15 men-have signed letters of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at SMSU.

“Our program has made big strides in the past few years because of our upperclassmen, but with the addition of this group of young men and women, I know our program will keep rising,” Allen said. “I’m excited to see where our team will be when they are seniors, not only because of the athletic talent they poses, but also the leadership qualities they have displayed throughout their high school careers. The future of Mustang cross country and track is looking bright!”

Coach Allen is expected to announce more signings later this spring.

Southwest Minnesota State is competing this weekend at the Howard Wood Relays in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and then will compete at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships on May 11-12.
