YOUTH HOCKEY: Marshall 10U Girls place second in district tournament, Mites/Mini Mites host tournament last weekend

MARSHALL – The Marshall Area Hockey Association Mites and Mini Mites hosted the last home tournament of the season with 47 teams attending the Tiger Classic. Over 500 players took the ice at the Red Baron Arena & Expo over three days with lots of fun hockey taking place. Several other teams were in the post season, including:

10U Girls

The 10U girls went 2-1 in the District 9 Tournament, finishing in second place. The Tigers posted wins over Rochester (4-2) and Winona (4-1) before falling 8-0 to Mankato. Brooklyn Mauch finished the tournament with four goals, including a hat trick against Winona, while Kendal Beernaert, Aubree Metheny, Madyson Girard and Olivia Lupkes each scored a goal in the wins.

12U Girls

The Tiger 12U girls finished their season going 1-2 in the National Regional Tournament in Luverne, defeating Andover 3-1 before falling to Litchfield/DC 2-7 and Hutchinson 2-8.

Pee Wee A

Marshall Pee Wee A went 0-2 in the South Regional Tournament in Hastings this past weekend. The Tigers opened with a 2-1 loss to Albert Lea. Jared Reinsma scored the lone Marshall goal while Malachi Klemm came away with the assist. Lincoln Mellenthin had 22 saves in the loss. On Saturday, Pee Wee A fell to Northfield 7-0 to end the season.

Pee Wee B

The Pee Wee B team traveled to Willmar this past weekend and defeated the Cardinals 7-3.
