MARSHALL – Southwest Minnesota State University head track & field coach Dan Allen announced Tuesday the team will be competing this Saturday at the Iowa Western Community College Spring Classic/Multi in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

SMSU was scheduled to host the Mustang Open on Friday, but the meet was canceled due to poor weather and track conditions.

Action will actually begin on Friday afternoon as SMSU’s Rylee Armstrong will compete in the heptathlon starting at 1:30. The rest of the team will start competition on Saturday with field events beginning at 10 a.m. and running events starting at 12 p.m.

The meet will be held at the Iowa Western Sports Complex.
