PREP WRESTLING: Minneota beats New Prague at Hutch Tri

HUTCHINSON – Minneota defeated New Prague 40-18.

The Vikings opened up the dual with four consecutive match wins.

Brant Buysse defeated Taylor Woodyard at 106 and Austin DeVlaeminck defeated Brennan Rutt at 113.

In the bout at 120, Brock Buysse defeated Michael McLellan, followed by Eric Hauswedell’s victory over Sam Reyant at 126.

Ater New Prague took the next four bouts, Alec Engler got the Vikings back on track with his win over Darick Kvam in the 160 bout.

That match started a string of four consecutive wins for Minneota, capped off by Nathan Bueltel’s win at 195 over Tony Woolhouse.

Trent Esping closed the dual with a victory by fall over Cole Giles in the heavyweight bout.

Minneota returns to action on January 17 at the Tracy-Milroy-Balaton/Westbrook-Walnut Grove tournament.
