3. You call it your principles, but some would say it's petty. You're either just talking tough and actually still shop in Marshall, or you're purposely spending more on fuel just to spite the people that voted for the tax. The extra fuel taxes that you're paying are definitely more deserving of your tax dollars.... 4. And again, my initial question was "Where are you going to buy?" Maybe other folks that share your principles would like to know so they can join you.

1. You are being misleading. The 8.875 number is on prepared food like you said, but it's ONLY on prepared food. 7.375 on the rest of sales tax transactions. If you don't like the extra 1.5%, don't eat out in Marshall. 2. I get that you said when you're out of town, but my question was "Where"? (cont)

1. This town also adds 1.5 % to prepared food. Total is 8.875% 2. I did say when I am out of town. 3.It is the principle of the thing. I enjoy buying something elsewhere knowing the businesses that think they will benefit from the "projects" that the tax is supposed to pay for will make nothing on my business at all. 4. There are many more places I can go than the ones you researched and listed

Where are you going to buy Westline? Marshall's sales tax rate is 7.375%. Willmar's is 7.375%. Mankato's is 7.375%. MoA in Bloomington is 7.275%. Hopefully that extra dollar you save per thousand you spend is worth it. Sioux Falls is 6%, so you can probably go there, but don't buy any clothes for anybody because you'd still pay the sales tax there. And buy alot because the 13.75 you'd save per thousand in SF needs to cover your fuel cost.

Stop the conspicuous consumption IN HONOR OF THE LORD. However, I will buy some groceries.

This town has higher taxes, so when I am out of town, I will buy there.

That's not exactly new information. That's gone on for many years.
