Fall fellowship fair Oct. 13 at Christ Lutheran

Christ Lutheran Church in Cottonwood will have its fall fellowship fair from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, at the church. The beef dinner is comprised of mashed potatoes, carrots, coleslaw, cranberry relish, pie and a beverage for a suggested donation of $8 for adults, $4 for 12 and younger and $2 for preschoolers. Meal delivery available by calling 423-5118. Country store, youth activities and sweet shop also offered.

Pet blessing Sunday at Holy Redeemer Church parking lot

In observance of St. Francis of Assisi Feast Day, a blessing of pets will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of Holy Redeemer Church, Marshall. This is an ecumenical event, sponsored by the Secular Franciscan Order. All are invited to bring their leashed or caged pets and join in the celebration. Refreshments will be served. Wild West fall fest Oct. 12 at Albright

Wild West fall fest is from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at Albright United Methodist Church, 301 N. High St., Marshall. The event is for preschool through elementary-aged children and their parents. Activities include storytelling, supper, games and crafts.

Catholic author, educator, and speaker Bormes to present at Holy Redeemer

Alyssa Bormes, author of the newly released "The Catechism of Hockey," will present at 4 p.m. Sunday at Holy Redeemer - Carlin Hall. Bormes is a public speaker and retreat leader on a range of Catholic topics. She is the assistant to the president of The American Chesterton Society, Dale Ahlquist, in Minneapolis.

Bormes received her master's degree in Catholic studies from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, which included study at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas (The Angelicum) in Rome, Italy. She has a bachelor of arts in psychology from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

The event is free of charge. Refreshments will be served following Bormes's presentation. "The Catechism of Hockey" will be available for purchase. The event is sponsored by Holy Redeemer Council of Catholic Women. Call Doreen Peterson at 532-3316 with questions. The public is welcome.

Public rosary Wednesday at Holy Redeemer School soccer field

Holy Redeemer Council of Catholic Women will be sponsoring a public rosary Wednesday at the Lyon Street side of the Holy Redeemer School soccer fields. Two rosaries will be prayed: one beginning at 5:30 p.m. and one at 6:40 p.m. The intentions for the rosary will be for God's help to guide America and its leaders and for forgiveness for the countless sins which are committed daily against the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The public is welcome. The event is sponsored by Holy Redeemer Council of Catholic Women.

National Life Chain to take place Sunday on Main Street

A Life Chain will be from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday to pray peacefully and quietly for an end to abortion and for those people affected by abortion. Everyone is invited to participate in the Life Chain. The Life Chain takes place across the country on this day and at this time.

To participate, meet on the corner of Main Street and College Drive at 2:30 p.m.

LWML rally set for Oct. 12 in Lakefield

LWML Southwest Zone Bi-Conference Zone Rally for the Pipestone/Worthington zones will take place Saturday, Oct. 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church-Sioux Valley, 38523 730th St., Lakefield.

The speaker is the Rev. Monte Meyer, and the theme is "Let's Go Fishing."

Registration begins at 9 a.m. with the rally starting at 9:30 and will be followed by a salad luncheon.

Registration fee is $5. Gifts of the Heart will go to Community Client Services, Inc.
