Homelessness event set for Sept. 28 at SMSU
The Newman club at Southwest Minnesota State University is sponsoring a speaker and sleep-out called Kick-out Homelessness from 6:30 p.m.-2 a.m. Sept. 28 at SMSU (participants can sleep until 8 a.m. Sept. 29 if desired). The event will begin in Charter Hall 217 for the speaker and then move to softball field for the sleep out.
The event is free, but a freewill donation would be appreciated to help end homelessness. The money will go to The Refuge - a Fresh Start and Western Community Action. The public is welcome to participate.
To sign up, e-mail SMSUNewman@gmail.com or call Leah at 507-530-3427.
Registration is not necessary, but organizers need an idea of how many boxes and handouts to have.
