CDA to meet Monday

The Catholic Daughters of America meeting is Monday at Hill Street. After the 5:30 p.m. Mass at Holy Redeemer, there will be games and a wine and cheese party. The meeting will follow the party for those who can stay.

SCD to sponsor Lenten lunches each Thursday

The Slayton Catholic Daughters will sponsor a luncheon each Thursday beginning Feb. 14 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at St. Ann's Church, Divine Mercy Hall, Slayton. The menu includes sandwiches, salads and desserts. Carryouts are available by calling 507-836-8030. Thursday's sandwich will be barbecued beef.

Soup, sermon offered during Lent

On Ash Wednesday, Feb. 13, and every Wednesday during Lent, the Marshall Ministerial Association offers the community an ecumenical opportunity to come together for Soup and a Sermon. Soup is served at 11:45 a.m. and the presentation of Lenten message 12:05 p.m. at the Christ United Presbyterian Church.

The Rev. Paul Wolf, Holy Redeemer Church, will speak the first week with pastors from other churches speaking on future Wednesdays.

People may bring their own brown-bag lunch. Beverages are provided. A free-will offering will go to the food shelf after expenses.
