Vote ‘no’ on amendments

October 18, 2012
Marshall Independent

To the editor:

I was taught and have always believed that our Constitution was created to protect our freedom. Some people want to pick and choose which freedoms to guarantee. The Republican legislators have done that by trying to change our constitution to alienate a segment of our population by taking away their right to vote, and for others the freedom to marry those they love. On top of it all, the voter ID amendment will likely cause Minnesotans to pay millions of tax dollars to implement.

I encourage everyone to carefully consider these amendments and what they really mean for people, and then vote NO to protect the freedom and rights of all Minnesotans.
