Overheard at the doctor’s waiting room. An older woman came out of the doctor’s office and spotted someone she knew and hadn’t seen in awhile. “I know you,” she said. “Your husband delivered 12 of my children.”

My daughter and I looked at each other. “12?” we both thought. I said, “that means she had more than 12 kids. They used to have a lot of kids. I can’t imagine having that many.”

I have four kids, which is kind of a lot these days. That lady must have been pregnant pretty much nonstop for 20 or so years. She looked pretty good though. Pregnancy takes its toll on a body. You’d think she would have one hair left on her head and would walk like you see zombies walking in movies.

I had a hard time thinking of names for my kids. It’s a big responsibility and this woman and her husband had to think of more than 12 first and middle names.

Yesterday I came across a new baby’s name. His last name is Kong and his parents named him Kingston. An interesting choice.
