Keeping busy at the ACC

It’s a busy time of year, followed by the lull of a Minnesota winter! The lull can be a hard time for some. Here at the Center we are keeping busy — getting rid of the lull.

January has some fun events taking place at the Center. Mini GOLD College kicks off on Jan. 15 with memoir writing and Lyon County 150th upcoming celebration. Mini GOLD will be at 1 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 15, 22, 29. Then join us on Thursday, Jan. 16 for Sheriff’s Showdown. Ever wonder what does the sheriff office do and what are they responsible for? This is the time to learn the difference in the duties of the sheriff’s office, city police department and the highway patrol. On Monday, Jan. 20, we will be at the Pizza Ranch learning about the many transportation possibilities for individuals in the Marshall community. Perhaps on that cold winter day instead of driving down, call for a ride and have it warm all the way down to the Center and back again. You won’t want to miss our vaping program at 10 a.m. Jan. 30. This is for adults only. It will be a time to learn so much about vaping — it is a current issue and the more we know the better informed we are. It’s a chance to be informed community members.

Join us in the lull of winter — for some adventures — go on a new journey! Give us a call if you have any questions at 537-6109.
