Rotarians begin efforts to upgrade Liberty Park

During the upcoming months the Rotary Club of Marshall Sunrise will work with the city of Marshall and the Marshall Fire Department to upgrade playground equipment at Liberty Park. Current play equipment has served its purpose for many years and because Liberty Park continues to be used by many children there is a need to make this community park a better place for children of many ages to play.

Fundraising during Marshall’s Sounds of Summer weekend will include the annual Rotary Sunrise Pancake Breakfast taking place at the Marshall Fire Hall on Aug. 19. Cakes are served from 8 a.m.-noon, and there’s an organized ride on our bike trail starting at 9 a.m. We hope many people buy their tickets in advance from a Sunrise Rotarian or at the door — this is also a great opportunity for children (and inquisitive adults) to take a closer look at our fire hall and firefighting equipment.

Rotarians want to better the lives of people at home and around the world. Whether it’s supporting clean water initiatives in India, maintaining efforts to eradicate polio or supporting our community, serving the needs of people happens in many different ways.
