Get the facts at RTR meeting before making decision on school bond vote
To the editor:
FYI-For all RTR District stakeholders on the upcoming School Bond Vote Feb. 12. It has come to my attention someone from the YES Vote committee is calling and telling stakeholders if RTR chooses to replace and remodel instead of building a new $35,000,000 preK-12 building in Tyler the farmers who will get hit the hardest (82 percent of the tax base is agriculture) will not get the AG2SCHOOL property tax credit. This is a false statement.
If we choose to replace/remodel or build new the farmer gets this tax credit regardless. Please come to the upcoming special school board meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at the high school gym in Tyler and get the facts before making a decision.
