Bruce Gossen

MINNEOTA — Mass of Christian Burial for Bruce Edward Gossen, 72, of Minneota will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Edward Catholic Church. A public visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. today at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Minneota, with a prayer service beginning at 5:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday morning at the Remembrance Center from 8:30-9:30 a.m. A rosary will be at St. Edward Church Thursday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will take place at St. Edward Catholic Cemetery following the funeral mass. Upon conclusion of the graveside service a luncheon will be held at St. Edward Church.

Bruce died Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

Bruce Edward Gossen was born Aug. 17, 1951, to Vincent and Theresa (Janssen) Gossen in Marshall. He was raised in Minneota, and graduated from Minneota Public High School in the spring of 1969. Upon graduation he joined the workforce and was employed at many different places throughout southwest Minnesota. Some of his favorite jobs included truck driving, farming, cabinet making, and greens keeping.

In 1976 he met the love of his life Edna Eischens. The couple was married on June 2, 1978, at Hope Lutheran Church in Minneota. They raised their family in Minneota.

Bruce had many hobbies throughout his life. He loved woodworking and latch hooking. He could often be found going for a ride on his Harley. Bruce enjoyed playing golf with his friends and family. He would cheer on his sons and grandsons at their wrestling meets.

He is survived by his wife Edna Gossen; children Tracy (Chad) Dahle, Tammy Gossen, Cody (Carolyn) Gossen, Shawn (Jaclyn) Gossen; grandchildren Hannah Abbott, Samuel Abbott, Cate Starzl, Charley Starzl, Cole Gossen, Dallas Gossen, Colten Gossen, Emmitt Gossen, Bentley Gossen; siblings Karen (Rodney) Golden, Mona (Jeff) Hammer, Pamela (James) Haugen; sister-in-law Marge (Brian) Obe; many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents Vincent and Theresa Gossen; twin brother Brian Gossen.
