April 23, 2021

MARSHALL — A public graveside services for Dolores Hebig, 89, of Marshall will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at the St. Kilian Catholic Cemetery in St. Kilian. Lunch will follow at the Wilmont VFW. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall.

She died Friday, April 23, 2021 at Boulder Estates.

Dolores Marie Wagner was born Dec. 18, 1931, to Domnic “Dim” and Helen (Bostic) Wagner in Iona. She was born to a hard-working family that taught Dolores the importance of faith and family. She was baptized, received first communion, and was confirmed at St. Kilian Catholic Church. Dolores attended St. Kilian Catholic School and Worthington High School.

On Jan. 25, 1949, Dolores was united in marriage to Adrian Hebig, Sr. at St. Kilian Catholic Church. After a honeymoon in Dubuque, Iowa, the couple made their home in a small house located in Wilmont, and started farming. Together, they raised 6 children: Karla, Renee, Denise, George, Sheila, and Adrian Jr. The family enjoyed a simple life with faith and family at the center. The family went on to live in Iona before moving to Marshall in 1970. Dolores spent most of her life as a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, and she did enjoy working at the Hy-Vee bakery in Marshall for 35 years before retiring.

Dolores was often lovingly referred to as the “Noodle Lady” by family as she prepared large meals when family would get together that included spaghetti pasta. Dolores was an avid Minnesota sports fan, especially the Minnesota Twins given her love of baseball. She would always have an opinion on who were the best players, and which calls umpires may have missed. Dolores enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow, play sports, and begin families of their own. She was very proud of her entire family; she was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Dolores was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and was active in the CCW. In her free time, she liked to bowl and play cards.

Dolores is survived by her 6 children, Karla (Curt) Kepler of Slayton, Renee (Jerry) Bjornebo of Marshall, Denise Jeseritz of Marshall, George (Lori) Hebig of Tracy, Sheila (Steve) Leary of Brookings, South Dakota, Adrian Jr. (Niki) Hebig of Apple Valley; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Marlene (Whitey) Jueneman of Wilmont; sister-in-law, Sister Bona Joan Hebig of Dubuque, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Adrian Hebig, Sr.; parents, Domnic and Helen Wagner; infant brother, Leon Wagner; sisters, Darlene Balster, Lois Peil, and Karen Loosbrock.
