Marsha Hansen

DOVRAY — Marsha Hansen was born on Nov. 1, 1962 in Slayton, Minnesota to Arthur and Viola “Vi” Wajer Lamb. She grew up near Dovray, and graduated from Westbrook High School in 1981. Following high school Marsha attended Worthington Community College in Worthington, graduating with an Associate Degree. On March 22, 1980 she and Herbert “Herb” Hansen were married at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Dovray. Following their marriage, they made their home in Dovray and raised their three children. Marsha found her passion in social work. She worked throughout southwest Minnesota advocating for those who could not advocate for themselves. Marsha passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN after a lengthy stay at the age of 58. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Church in Westbrook. Marsha also was a member of the Dovray American Legion Auxiliary, Dovray Fire Department, served on the Pleasant View Cemetery Board, and was a 4-H leader. Marsha enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, photography, camping and just being outdoors.

Survivors include her husband, Herb Hansen of Dovray, three children and their spouses, Joe and Marissa Hansen of Dodge Center, MN, Natalie and Matthew Koehne of Fridley, MN, and Ashley and Josh Kelner of Plymouth, MN, five grandchildren, Leo and Jack Hansen, Violet Koehne and Madison and Cooper Kelner, seven siblings and their spouses, Dianne and Brent Johnson of Hadley, Harold and Deb Lamb of Garvin, Mary Fox and Jim Sears of Montrose, SD, April Mitchell of Little Canada, MN, Bob and Dana Lamb of Madison Lake, MN, Jeff and Julie Lamb of Westbrook, and Jim Lamb of Currie, and several nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and their families. She is preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Betty Radke.

In an effort to keep everyone safe a private family service will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Currie, MN on Monday, March 1, 2021 with Msgr. R. Paul Heiting officiating. The organist is Patty Leclaire and the song leader is LoAnn Hansen.

A public celebration of Marsha’s life with interment at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Dovray, MN will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Minnesota Epilepsy Foundation or Alzheimer’s research. Totzke Funeral Home of Slayton is entrusted with arrangements. To send condolences visit
