Clayton Julien

Clayton James Julien, 92, went to Jesus’ side on Monday, May 4, 2020.

He was born in 1927, at the family farm south of Garvin, to Julian and Anna (Helleson) Julien. He married Gertrude Lavoie of Tyler on March 19, 1950 and they farmed for 7 years in Lincoln and Lyon counties, Minnesota. They moved to Seattle, WA in 1956 where he worked for the Boeing Company. He retired in 1992 as a physics tech in Boeing’s military and space division. Clay enjoyed his family and church family, hunting and fishing, gardening, and traveling with Gertie. In July 2019 they moved to Blaine.

Clay will be deeply missed by his wife of 70 years; by children, Lynnee (Robert) Edwards, Blaine, Clint Julien, Lake Sammamish, WA, Sheryl (Vince) Taylor, Phoenix, AZ, and Vance (Danielle) Julien, Snohomish, WA; by grandchildren Joel (Anna) Edwards, Northfield, Mark (Beth) Edwards, Brooklyn Park, Nathan (Jennifer) Edwards, Andover, Katherine (Daniel) Gallant, Brooklyn Park, MN; step grandchildren Jessica (Derek) Cress, Marysville, WA, Christina Charles, Kirkland, WA; by great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Nathaniel, Benjamin and Asher Edwards, Noah, Isaiah, Jonah and Ella Edwards, Clayton Edwards and Blair Gallant; by step great-grandchildren Piper, Zoe and Thomas Cress; by brother-in-law, Donald Lavoie, Inver Grove Heights, sister-in-law Marjorie (George) Johnson, Oakdale, and by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Kyle Mark, brothers Orval, Gordon, Arnold and Earl.

Services will be held Friday, May 29, 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Tracy, with committal at Hoiland Cemetery, Tracy.
