Bernice Wyffels

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. — Bernice B. Wyffels, 89, of Jacksonville, Ill., and formerly of Minneota, no services will take place per her request. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice. Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Ill., is in charge of the arrangements.

Bernice died Friday, Feb. 14, 2020, at Heritage Health in Jacksonville, Ill.

She was born July 18, 1930, in Marshall, to Maurice and Helene Slembrouck Laleman. She married Elmo E. Wyffels on Feb. 24, 1954, in Minneota and he preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 2008.

Mrs. Wyffels was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by three sons, Thomas (Diane) Wyffels of Benson, Bernard (Joan) Wyffels of St. Cloud, and Victor (Ellen) Wyffels of Paynesville; three daughters, Lois (Randy) Schultz of Minneota, Pamela Robson of Jacksonville, Ill., and Susan Giller of San Antonio, Texas; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Omer Laleman and Etien (Marian) Laleman both of Minneota; two sisters, Leona Thooft of Tyler and Mary Ann Buysse of Minneota; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Jamie Wyffels; two sons-in-law, Daryl Robson and David Giller and two brothers, Joseph and Daniel Laleman.
