Lynda Kay Schmidt Coudron of Marshall, passed away on Sept. 16, 2019, at 53 years of age after a 20-month battle with brain cancer.

Lynda was born Jan. 3, 1966, in Tracy, to Roland and Marcella (Truwe) Schmidt. As a child, Lynda enjoyed raising horses with her family. In high school, Lynda ran track and still holds records in the 300 and 400-meter relays. After graduating from Tracy High School she attended vocational school in Granite Falls. In 1986, Lynda married Jeff Gladis and together they had one son, Jared Schmidt. After vocational school she was hired by The Schwan Food Company and worked there for 31 years. Most recently she was working as the office manager at Parisek Dental. In 2012, Lynda was united in marriage to Dennis Coudron.

Lynda enjoyed quilting and crocheting. Up until very recently, she was still making hats and scarves for homeless shelters, as well as baby hats for the local hospital. She continued to love the outdoors, especially fishing and four-wheeling with her husband Dennis. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her “greatest accomplishment,” her son, Jared.

Lynda is survived by her husband Dennis Coudron of Marshall; son Jared Schmidt of Marshall; mother Marcella Schmidt of Tracy; siblings Alan (and Mary) Schmidt of Tracy, Rolana Schmidt of Tyler, Theresa (and David) Thomson of Ortonville, Larry Schmidt of Tracy; step-sons Jeremy (and Dawn) Coudron of White Bear Lake and Chris Coudron of San Francisco; grandchildren Piper and Lincoln Coudron of White Bear Lake; and pet cat Samantha.

She was preceded in death by her father Roland, and grandmother “Granny” Bernardine Truwe.

Special thanks to the friends, family, and loved ones who helped Lynda in her final months. The love and compassion shown by everyone is a reflection of the joy and warmth Lynda gave the world and those around her. Her memory and spirit live on in all of us.
