Mary Ann Farrell

ROCHESTER — Mary Ann Farrell, 82, of Rochester, passed away peacefully under the care of Cottagewood Senior Community and Hospice in Rochester on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018.

Mary Ann Farrell was born June 26, 1936, in LaCrosse, Wis., to Victor and Frances (Smolek) Merrell. She graduated from LaCrosse Aquinas High School in 1954, and then stayed at home to raise her daughter. She later worked at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester as a phlebotomist for 12 years. Mary Ann enjoyed spending time with family, her neighbors and her beloved dog, Miss Daisy. She also loved to read, write books and poetry, collect holy cards and watch Packer games.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Farrell Noyes and her husband Dean Noyes of Marshall; one sister, Jeanette (Alfred) Graf of Hokah, Minnesota; five grandchildren: Kristen (Greg) Sluis of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Nicolle (Chad) Johnston of Minneota; Tanner Erickson of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Kayla Noyes of Fargo, N.D.; and Mitchell Noyes of Sioux Falls; nine great-grandchildren Gabrielle (Tylor) Haviland, Dawson, Keegan, Austyn and London Sluis; Easton, Gage and Brooks Johnston and Libby Erickson; and two great-great-grandchildren Dove and Sage Haviland.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In keeping with the family’s wishes, there will be a private family service and burial Monday, Dec. 10, at the Catholic Cemetery of LaCrosse, Wis. The Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home of Rochester and the Catholic Cemetery of LaCrosse, Wis., are assisting the family.
