Myron Lasnetski

Nov. 12, 1925-June 11, 2018

IVANHOE — Services for Myron Lasnetski, 92, of Ivanhoe, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Cantius Catholic Church, Wilno. Burial will be in the St. John’s Cantius Catholic Cemetery, Wilno. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. prayer service in the Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Ivanhoe and will resume Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.

He died Monday, June 11, 2018, in the Sylvan Court Nursing Home in Canby. 

Myron Lasnetski was born Nov. 12, 1925, in Canby to Andrew and Mary Lasnetski (Shaikoski). He attended Wilno Parochial School and then the country school near his home. Myron was a member of the St. John Cantius Church in Wilno. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Myron married Irene (Skorczewski) on Oct. 10, 1949. To that union they were blessed with six children. The family lived on the original family farm in rural Lincoln County where Myron farmed until his retirement. Myron also worked at various other jobs including Swifts, the Ivanhoe Hospital and Ivanhoe Feed & Seed.

Myron was a hardworking man who loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Some of his favorite activities were playing horseshoes, baseball and fishing. He loved watching Minnesota Twins baseball and Minnesota Vikings football. These were his two favorite teams. Myron also loved playing softball and spending time in the playhouse with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his earlier days, you could find Myron spending time at the Marble store or playing cards with his brothers and in-laws. Another favorite of Myron’s was the yearly 4th of July celebration at St. John Cantius Church in Wilno.

Myron is survived by his children: Gerry Lasnetski of Canby, Nick (Linnea) Lasnetski of Marshall, Maelene Lasnetski of Marshall, Jeff (Darla) Lasnetski of Willmar, Patty (Jim) Redlinger of Brandon S.D.; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Irene Lasnetski, daughter Colleen Przymus, grandson Nathan Lasnetski and brothers Ambrose and Leonard Lasnetski.
