Sophia Margaret Deutz was born March 23, 2007, in Sioux Falls, S.D. She had medical problems that manifested at an early age. Despite these difficulties, she made a lasting impact on her family and friends. She communicated with her sparkling and dazzling smile. Sophia enjoyed kids and chaos, whether with her energetic siblings or schoolmates. She was drawn to water and enjoyed her baths and time at the swimming pool. She also enjoyed swinging and the trampoline. Sophia was a fan of Disney Movies, especially Moana. Her time with us was short, but her impact was large. Sophia filled our hearts with love and will never be forgotten.

Survivors include her parents, Craig Deutz (Lynn Zurn) and Michelle Portner (Dave Coudert); brother, Logan, twin sister, Belle and 2-year old brother, Nash; grandparents, Bill and Becky Deutz of Marshall and Margaret Portner of New Ulm; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
