Dennis Rauenhorst

MARSHALL — Services for Dennis Rauenhorst, 69, of Marshall, will be at 11 a.m. today at Rehkamp- Horvath Funeral Home in Marshall. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Dennis died Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at his residence in Marshall, under the care of Prairie Home Hospice of Marshall.

Dennis John Rauenhorst was born Nov. 9, 1947, in Medford, Oregon, the oldest child of John and Catherine (Korman) Rauenhorst. He moved to Olivia in 1950 and also lived in Willmar. Dennis had lived at a REM home in Marshall since 1977. Dennis worked for Advance Opportunities. He enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings and Twins. He also loved visiting with people and typically began most conversations with “Did your car start?” Dennis also enjoyed going out for a cup of coffee or a Diet Coke. Dennis especially adored his special relationship with his brother Bill.

Survivors include his brothers: William “Bill” Rauenhorst of Marshall, Steven Rauenhorst of Redwood Falls and Glen Rauenhorst of the Twin Cities; sister Mary Kae (and Michael) Gaede of Fort Collins, Colorado; his housemates and friends at REM and co-workers at Advance Opportunities.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Fred Rauenhorst.
