Myrtle Snyder

April 8, 1915-June 7, 2017

TRACY — Services for Myrtle Dorothy Snyder, 102, longtime resident of the Tracy area, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Life Remembrance Center in Tracy. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the Life Remembrance Center. A private family burial will take place at Tracy Cemetery.

Myrtle died Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at the Assumption Home in Cold Spring

Myrtle Dorothy Larson was born April 8, 1915, to Louis J. Larson and Ida (Dahlgren) Larson near Walnut Grove. She graduated from Walnut Grove High School with the class of 1933. On Sept. 29, 1933, she was united in marriage to Jesse D. Snyder, son of Ernest T. and Carrie Luella Snyder, in Lamberton.

Jesse and Myrtle farmed north of Tracy from 1943 until they moved to a farm south of Balaton in 1965. They moved to Tracy in 1970, where Myrtle was employed as a cook at Tracy High School for 17 years. She lived at Twin Circle for many years before moving to Cold Spring to be closer to family.

Myrtle is survived by her sister Florence Baack of Rochester, and daughters Gayle Snyder Pearson of Surprise, Arizona; LeAnn J. Snyder of Hackensack, and Cheryl (James) Odegard of Cold Spring; six grandchildren; Lynn (James) Pearson Hall, Leah (Eric) Pearson Hargrove, Jay D. Pearson, Marnie (Chad) Burt, Michael (Jackie) Nixon, and Matthew (Shannon) Odegard; 10 great-grandchildren; James (Megan), Kristopher, Kory and Kyle Hall; Curtis, Lauren and Paul Hargrove; Ella and Elijah Burt; and Emma Odegard and three great-great-grandchildren, James, Wyatt and Owen Hall; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Ida, four brothers, one sister, husband Jesse D. Snyder, infant son Lyle, and son-in-law William (Bill) Pearson.
