Two injured in Highway 59 crash

CLARKFIELD — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash north of Clarkfield early Thursday morning. Parker Joseph James Eischens, 20, of Marshall and Lucas Robert Richter, 43, of Granite Falls, both received non life-threatening injuries, the Minnesota State Patrol said.

The crash was reported at 6:43 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 59 and 310th Avenue in Yellow Medicine County. A 2005 Dodge Ram driven by Richter was westbound on 310th Avenue, and a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Eischens was northbound on Highway 59 when the vehicles collided in the intersection, the State Patrol said.

Richter was transported to the Montevideo hospital with injuries, and Eischens was transported to Avera Granite Falls.

The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office, Clarkfield Fire Department, and Granite Falls and Monte Medical wall responded at the crash scene, the State Patrol said.
