Two injured in truck/pay loader collision

LYND — Two people were hurt in a Monday morning crash involving a semi truck and a pay loader, the Minnesota State Patrol said.

The crash was reported at 7:35 a.m. at the intersection of 230th Street and Minnesota Highway 23, the State Patrol said. A 2014 semi driven by Steven Lloyd Hanson, 60, of Brooklyn Center, was southbound on Highway 23, when it struck a 1998 Caterpillar pay loader on the shoulder of the road, the State Patrol said. Both Hanson and the pay loader driver, 24-year-old Walker Jon Werpy of Marshall, were taken to Avera Marshall Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said.

North Memorial Ambulance responded at the crash scene.
