3-vehicle crash on US 59 in Lyon County

LYON COUNTY — Injuries were reported in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday morning at the intersection of U.S. Highway 59 and Lyon County Road 10, the Minnesota State Patrol said. Three adult drivers and an infant passenger were involved in the crash, according to a State Patrol report, but more information on their conditions was not available.

The crash involved a 2007 Chevy Trailblazer driven by a Cottonwood woman, 25; a 2007 GMC Acadia driven by a Cottonwood man, 48; and a 2015 Dodge Ram driven by a Minneota man, 44, the State Patrol said. The Chevy was westbound on County Road 10 and failed to stop at the intersection with Highway 59, the State Patrol said. The Chevy first struck the GMC, which was southbound on Highway 59, and then struck the Dodge, which was stopped at a stop sign facing eastbound. After being hit, the GMC entered the ditch and rolled, landing on its wheels, the State Patrol said.

Road conditions were wet at the time of the crash, the State Patrol said.

More information on the drivers involved in the crash, including names and conditions, was not released as of press time Wednesday night.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Department, Cottonwood Fire and Rescue, and the Cottonwood Ambulance all responded at the scene of the crash.
