Courts for Dec. 9

MARSHALL – Stephanie Lynn Roybal, 28, of Denver, Colorado, appeared in Lyon County District Court Nov. 25 on charges of first degree burglary, theft, and motor vehicle theft. A complaint alleges Roybal stole entered a motel room in Marshall on Sept. 13 or 14, and stole a truck and other property belonging to the room’s occupant. The court found probable cause for the charges, and a plea hearing was set for Dec. 9.

MARSHALL – Carl Thomas Anderson, 38, of Springfield, Minnesota, pleaded innocent in Lyon County District Court Nov. 25 to charges of violation of a restraining order. A complaint alleges Anderson violated a restraining order in Marshall on Oct. 11. A trial date was set for Jan. 28, with a date certain of March 12. A pre-trial hearing was set for Jan. 20.

MARSHALL – Darl John Johnson, 24, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court Nov. 26 on charges of third degree controlled substance crime, fifth degree controlled substance crime, child endangerment, and possession of drug paraphernalia. A complaint alleges Johnson possessed methamphetamines in Marshall on Aug. 14. A hearing was set for Dec. 9. Bail for Johnson was set at $20,000 without conditions, or release with conditions including appear in court, do not leave Minnesota, and abstain from alcohol and drugs.

MARSHALL – Jason Bradley Degroat, 36, of Garvin, appeared in Lyon County District Court Nov. 26. on charges of driving after cancellation – inimical to public safety. A complaint alleges Degroat drove with a cancelled license in Marshall on Oct. 28. A hearing was set for Dec. 9. Bail for Degroat was set at $3,000 without conditions or release with conditions including appear in court, abide by laws, and complete booking.

MARSHALL – Omar Yanez, Jr., 18, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court Dec. 2 on charges of domestic assault, fifth degree assault, two counts of terroristic threat charges, and obstructing legal process charges. A complaint alleges Yanez assaulted a woman in Marshall on Nov. 20. A hearing was set for Dec. 20.

MARSHALL – Mason Derek Bleick, 21, of Gibbon, pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Dec. 2 to charges of third degree driving while impaired, court records said. Bleick drove with an alcohol level of .19 in Marshall on Aug. 28, court records said. Bleick was sentenced to one year in jail with 335 days stayed, pay a $700 fine, and two years probation with conditions including abide by laws, obtain a chemical use assessment, and serve 30 days in jail. Additional charges of third degree driving while impaired, failure to provide proof of insurance, and open bottle were dismissed.

MARSHALL – Kassandra Lee Krumm, 24, of Balaton, pleaded innocent in Lyon County District Court Dec. 2 to two counts of fifth degree controlled substance crime, fourth degree driving while impaired charges, illegal possession of prescription drugs charges, and possession of drug paraphernalia charges. A complaint alleges Krumm possessed drugs in Balaton on Sept. 21. A trial date was set for Feb. 20, and a pre-trial hearing was set for Feb. 10.

MARSHALL – Benjamin Scott Trevino, 19, of Marshall, pleaded innocent in Lyon County District Court Dec. 2 to charges of obstructing legal process and minor consumption. A complaint alleges Trevino resisted arrest in Marshall on Sept. 26. A trial date was set for Feb. 19, and a pre-trial hearing was set for Feb. 10.

MARSHALL – Trisha Marie Orth, 20, of Minneota, pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Dec. 2 to charges of fifth degree controlled substance crime, court records said. Orth possessed drugs in Marshall on May 3, court records said. Orth received a stay of adjudication, a $500 fine, and four years probation with conditions including serve 21 days in jail, complete 150 hours of Sentenced to Service, abide by laws and abstain from alcohol and drugs.

MARSHALL – Darrius Antowon Shears, 23, of West Helena, Arkansas, appeared in Lyon County District Court Dec. 2 on charges of third degree assault. A complaint alleges Shears assaulted a woman in Marshall on Aug. 29. A trial date was set for Feb. 5, and a pre-trial hearing was set for Jan. 27.
