Burglary suspects appear in Lyon County District Court

MARSHALL – Two men arrested in connection with a Nov. 28 burglary in Marshall appeared in Lyon County District Court this week, court records said. Darren Christopher Nelson, 18, and Juan Anthony Garcia, 20, both of Marshall, face burglary and theft charges in the incident.

Earlier this month, Marshall Police reported that a residence on West Marshall Street had been burglarized on Nov. 28, and several guns and other property had been stolen.

Both Darren Nelson and Juan Garcia appeared in district court on Tuesday. Nelson is charged with second degree burglary – liability for crimes of another and theft of a firearm – liability for crimes of another. A complaint alleges Nelson or an accomplice entered the residence Nov. 28 and stole guns and other items. A hearing for Nelson was set for Dec. 30.

Garcia is charged with second degree burglary – liability for crimes of another, theft of a firearm – liability for crimes of another and ineligible possession of a firearm. A complaint alleges Garcia or an accomplice entered the residence Nov. 28 and stole guns and other items. The complaint also alleges Garcia was in possession of firearms. A hearing for Garcia was set for Jan. 13.
