Courts for Sept. 26

MARSHALL – Justin Lee Priebe, 36, of Becker, appeared in Lyon County District Court Sept. 23 on two counts of third degree driving while impaired. A complaint alleges Priebe drove a commercial vehicle with an alcohol level higher than .2 in Marshall on June 12. A hearing was set for Oct. 21.

MARSHALL – Craig Alden Rund, 36, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court Sept. 23 on charges of theft and theft by false representation. A complaint alleges Rund charged more than $34,000 to a former employer’s account between November 2009 and March 2014. A hearing was set for Oct. 21.

MARSHALL – Jay Thomas Kiihn, 54, of Tracy, appeared in Lyon County District Court Sept. 23 on two counts of first degree driving while impaired charges, driving after cancellation – inimical to public safety charges, and illegal use of license plates charges. A complaint alleges Kiihn drove with an alcohol level of .14 in Tracy on Sept. 9, and had prior DWI convictions in 2007, 2009, 2010, and 2011. A hearing was set for Oct. 7.

MARSHALL – Tucker Stephen Zawchenuk, 18, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court Sept. 23 on charges of terroristic threats, fifth degree assault and disorderly conduct. A complaint alleges Zawchenuk threatened to stab a man and punched another man in Marshall on Sept. 9. A hearing was set for Oct. 21.

MARSHALL – Kathryn Louise Hill, 32, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court Sept. 23 on charges of third degree driving while impaired. A complaint alleges Hill drove while under the influence of drugs in Marshall on March 26. A hearing was set for Oct. 21.

MARSHALL – James Paul Yurrick, 49, of Minneota, was sentenced in Lyon County District Court Sept. 23 for first degree criminal sexual conduct charges, court records said. Yurrick sexually abused a victim younger than 16 in Minneota over a period of time between 2011 and 2014, court records said. Yurrick was sentenced to 12 years in prison with credit for 115 days already served, pay a $400 fine, and a 10-year conditional release after prison. Additional charges of second degree criminal sexual conduct, fifth degree criminal sexual conduct and first degree criminal sexual conduct were dismissed.

MARSHALL – Tiffany Lee An Nasers, 37, of Sibley, Iowa, appeared in Lyon County District Court Sept. 23 on charges of third degree driving while impaired, headlight violation and possession of drug paraphernalia. A complaint alleges Nasers drove under the influence of drugs in Marshall on April 10. A hearing was continued to Oct. 21.

MARSHALL – Paw Ner Moo, 46, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court Sept. 23 on charges of malicious punishment of a child. A complaint alleges Moo maliciously punished a child in a period of time between July 2013 and June 2014. A hearing was continued to Oct. 21.

MARSHALL – Marissa Elvira Mares, 24, of Marshall, pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Sept. 23 to charges of escaping custody, court records said. Mares failed to return to jail after work release in Marshall on July 25, court records said. Mares was sentenced to 17 months in prison with credit for 61 days already served and to pay a $100 fine. Additional charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana were dismissed.

MARSHALL – Julena Michelle Larsen, 18, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court Sept. 23 on charges of theft. A complaint alleges Larsen stole more than $700 in merchandise from a Marshall business on Aug. 9. A hearing was continued to Oct. 21.

MARSHALL – Abirham Chane Tessema, 23, of Marshall, pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Sept. 23 to charges of second degree driving while impaired – refusal to test, court records said. Tessema refused to take a substance test in Marshall on Aug. 10, court records said. Tessema was sentenced to one year in jail with 320 days stayed, pay a $1,000 fine and two years probation with conditions including serve 45 days in jail, obtain a chemical use assessment and abide by laws. Additional charges of driving after revocation were dismissed.

MARSHALL – Vanessa Rochelle Garcia, 25, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court Sept. 23 on charges of interfering with an emergency call, domestic assault and disorderly conduct. A complaint alleges Garcia assaulted a man and interfered with an emergency call in Marshall on Aug. 14. A hearing was set for Oct. 21.
