A rural Lyon County house was destroyed in a fire reported in the early hours of Thursday morning, the Marshall Fire Department said. The Marshall, Tracy and Garvin fire departments responded to a fire at a house just off U.S. Highway 59, about 10 miles south of Marshall. No one was hurt in the fire, but the house was a total loss, said Marshall Assistant Fire Chief Ray Henriksen. Henriksen said the fire was reported at about 2 a.m. Thursday. The homeowner was working in a nearby garage at the time of the fire and was able to get away, Henriksen said. Several hours after firefighters arrived at the scene, there was nothing left of the house. However, nearby structures like an attached garage and other outbuildings were still intact, Henriksen said.
