Highway 23 crash injures 6

MARSHALL — A child was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital after a crash that caused multiple injuries Tuesday afternoon in Marshall.

Marshall Police said they are investigating a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Minnesota Highway 23 and Saratoga Street.

The crash was reported at 3:23 p.m. A 2011 BMW driven by a Marshall boy 16, collided with a 2013 GMC driven by a Marshall woman, 41, Marshall Police said. The woman and three juvenile passengers in the GMC were transported to Avera Marshall Medical Center, and one of the juveniles was then airlifted to Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls, Police said.

The driver of the BMW and a juvenile passenger received minor injuries, Police said.

The crash remains under investigation, Marshall Police said. The Minnesota State Patrol is assisting with the investigation.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, the Marshall Fire Department and North Memorial Ambulance all responded at the crash scene.
