Two injured in Highway 23 crash

GRANITE FALLS — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday night near Granite Falls, the Minnesota State Patrol said. A Redwood Falls woman and a Benson man were taken to Avera Granite Falls with non life-threatening injuries.

The crash was reported at 8:25 p.m., at Minnesota Highway 23 and Prairie’s Edge Lane. A 2016 Ford Escape driven by Fay Elaine Myers, 83, of Cottonwood, was westbound on Prarie’s Edge Lane, and a 2005 Chevy Malibu driven by Rikki Marie Bohlsen, 48, of Redwood Falls, was northbound on Highway 23 when the two vehicles collided, the State Patrol said.

Road conditions were wet at the time of the crash, the State Patrols said.

Bohlsen and a passenger in the Malibu, 49-year-old Ramiro Vasquez-Zamora, were taken to Avera Granite Falls with non life-threatening injuries. Myers and a passenger in the Escape were uninjured.

The Granite Falls Fire Department and Ambulance, the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office and the Upper Sioux Police all responded at the crash scene.
