Predatory offender moving to Marshall

MARSHALL — Marshall Police are making information available on a predatory offender who will be moving to Marshall next week.

Bradley Scott Edwards, 26, will be moving to Marshall on April 13, an announcement from the Marshall Police Department said. Edwards will be moving the 500 block of West Lyon Street in Marshall, Police said. He remains under the supervision of the Minnesota Department of Corrections’ Intensive Supervised Release Program.

Edwards is registered as a level 3 predatory offender, and law enforcement is required to notify the community when a level 3 offender moves in.

Edwards moved to Marshall once before, in August 2020. At that time, law enforcement recorded an informational presentation for the community, with the help of the Minnesota Department of Corrections. The video can be viewed online at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AccdGCfnd9A, or on the Marshall Police Department’s Facebook page. A public fact sheet will also be available on the MPD Facebook page.

According to the MPD fact sheet, Edwards was convicted of criminal sexual conduct in Redwood County for an offense committed when he was 17. Edwards engaged in sexual contact with a teenage girl who was known to him. Force was used to gain the victim’s compliance, Police said.

Law enforcement said Edwards has served his sentence for the offense and is transitioning into the community. Marshall Police can’t direct where an individual person lives, works or attends school, the fact sheet said. Threatening, harassing or intimidating a person on the predatory offender registry is not acceptable, and could be charged as a crime, law enforcement said.

People with questions are encouraged to call the Marshall Police at 507-537-7000.
