Vesta man injured in Hwy 19 crash

MILROY — One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Clifton Township, the Minnesota State Patrol said. Jonathan Carl Rubendall, 47, went to Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center with non life-threatening injures, the State Patrol said.

The crash was reported at 7:41 a.m. Tuesday at Lyon County Road 11 and Minnesota Highway 19. A 2019 GMC Acadia driven by Darren Michael Fransen, 36, of Tracy, was traveling northbound on County Road 11 and a 2013 Dodge Durango driven by Rubendall was westbound on Highway 19 when the vehicles collided, the State Patrol said.

Road conditions at the time of the crash were snowy and icy, the State Patrol reported.

Fransen was uninjured in the crash. Three children who were passengers in the Durango, ages 11, 14 and 14, were also uninjured, the State Patrol said.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office also responded at the crash scene.
