The finishing touches for the new veterans’ memorial in downtown Marshall were put in place Tuesday afternoon. Members of the Marshall Rotary clubs, including Sharon Hanson, and Marshall Parks Superintendent Preston Stensrud, slid memorial pavers into place in specially-built display racks. Many of the pavers remember area veterans or military service members. Stensrud said more spaces are still available to be filled.

Veterans’ Memorial Park will be dedicated at a ceremony Thursday morning. The program will start at 11 a.m., with remarks from members of local government, community members and representatives from the VFW and American Legion. A fly-over by Aaron Fagen and Pete Johnson is planned at 11:30.
