Showing support

‘We just thought we should do something’

Photo by Deb Gau About 25 people showed up with flags of support for President Donald Trump Thursday at Highway 23 and Highway 59 in Marshall.

Around 25 people were spread out near the corner of Highway 23 and Highway 59 in Marshall on Thursday afternoon with flags supporting President Donald Trump.

“We just thought we should do something,” said Amy Lyon, one of the supporters carrying flags. “We wanted to get together and show support for our president.”

Lyon said she and Lakefield resident Randy Thom helped spread the word about the gathering on social media, and brought Trump flags and signs. More supporters were also gathered near the former Shopko property. Lyon said they also hoped to have a vehicle parade through Marshall that afternoon.

While there were a couple instances of profanity being yelled at the group Thursday, many passing drivers honked their horns or waved in support.
