Blizzard warning for Thursday

The National Weather Service, Sioux Falls, South Dakota office, announced this afternoon that a Blizzard Warning will be in effect from 9 a.m. Thursday to midnight Thursday night for an area that covers Lyon, Lincoln, Yellow Medicine and Murray counties. Snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches are expected, with wind gusts as high as 45 miles per hour and wind chill temperatures as low as 30 below zero. A Winter Weather Advisory started at 3 p.m. today and will remain in effect until 9 a.m. Thursday, when the Blizzard Warning begins.
