RTR district offering tours of three schools

TYLER — Moving toward placing a building bond referendum on a February ballot, the Russell-Tyler-Ruthton School District is offering additional tours of the current school buildings today.

The school board formally accepted and then voted to move ahead with the 2018 RTR Community Facilities Task Force’s recommendation at its Nov. 14 regular board meeting.

On Monday, the board interviewed potential architects for the project and on Tuesday it interviewed candidates for construction manager.

Today’s tours are scheduled for approximately one hour in length to allow stakeholders to visit all three facilities. The tours will be offered:

• 10 a.m. RTR High School, Tyler (Meet at door No. 3 by the district office)

• 11:30 a.m. RTR Elementary School, Ruthton (meet at the east door by the elementary library)

• 1 p.m. RTR Middle School, Russell (meet at the gym lobby doors)

A third special meeting is slated for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, in the library for the purpose of adopting a resolution calling for a special election on Feb. 12 to build a new pre-K through 12th-grade facility in Tyler.
